Police in Litein, Kericho County, are holding a 13-year-old Standard Seven girl who was found selling illicit brew at their home.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Bureti OCPD Felicia Nafula said the minor’s father Alphine Koech, who was the main target of the raid but managed to flee, is a notorious chang’aa dealer in the area.

According to Ms. Nafula, 97 liters of chang’aa brew which had been stored in various places in Mr. Koech’s compound was recovered during the raid.

”50 litres of the illicit brew was found in a hole outside his house, 35 litres in the bedroom and 12 litres in the sitting room,” said the police boss.

She also revealed that two men who were found in the suspect’s house were also arrested and are being held together with the minor awaiting arraignment on Monday.

Ms. Nafula further added that a hunt for Mr. Koech has since been launched.
