🦊🔵 Harvey Barnes comments on Leicester City’s 2-1 win over Burnley

Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes believes that securing three points after beating Burnley 2-1 at the weekend is of utter importance as they continue their climb in the Premier League.

Brendan Rodgers’ charges have managed to secure five wins from nine Premier League matches this season after they came from behind to beat Burnley

Barnes assisted Jamie Vardy‘s equaliser, with an impressive cross, before the 21-year-old passed Demarai Gray’s cross in the direction of Youri Tielemans who scored the money shot in the 74th minute of the contest.

“I think that was an important game for us,” Barnes told LCFC TV. “It wasn’t an easy one, as you saw, but to come out with the three points, in the end, is massive.

“I think with the atmosphere today, it was always going to be a little bit more difficult, but I think the boys did really well to just focus on the game.

“Obviously, after the game, that’s when all the emotions come out. It was a difficult occasion, the performance wasn’t 100 per cent, but we showed great character.

“I think it was massive for us. Burnley are a good side and they’re very difficult to play against. With the crowd being so good today, that really spurred us along.”

Barnes further cited the importance of preparations over the international break which is what helped the Foxes beat the Clarets at King Power Stadium.

“As we spoke about in there (the changing room), that’s their first loss away from home, so it shows that they’re a tough side.

“For us today to get back to winning ways, we had some good work over the international break and we’re looking forward to a good period now. Hopefully, we can continue this winning run.”
